#EdResearch: Your research, in 140 characters or less.

Can you explain what your research is about… in 140 characters or less?

UBC Faculty of Education students, postdocs and faculty members are invited to use Twitter to tell the world what their research is about, why it is important, and how it will make the world a better place. In doing so, they will not only sharpen their communication skills but also expose their work to the education research community far beyond the UBC Faculty of Education. By tagging their contributions with #EdResearch, participants will potentially make their work visible to hundreds of other education researchers, stakeholders and journalists who monitor activity in this area. We hope this will generate opportunities for stimulating exchange and collaboration!

Contributions will be shared in online and real-life galleries throughout the Year of Research in Education.

The contest is open from October 6th, 2014 to April 30th, 2015.

Rules:

1. Contributions must be posted on Twitter to be eligible.

3. Please enter as many times as you want, however a maximum of one entry per day will be entered in the draw. You can only win one prize in the #EdResearch contest throughout the Year of Research in Education.

4. Please be mindful of privacy and research ethics when tweeting.

There will be no commercial use of your work. Examples of uses include: web site publications, posters, digital signs, and promotional brochures.

6. While all UBC Faculty of Education affiliates are encouraged to post submissions, only UBC (Vancouver) Faculty of Education students and postdoctoral fellows are eligible to win the randomly drawn prizes. Graduate Academic Assistants (GAAs) working within OGPR are not eligible for prizes.

7. Monthly random draws will be held on the first business day of every month among the previous month’s entries, from November to May 2014. The Grand Prize will be drawn in May 2015 from all entries submitted between October 6th, 2014 and April 30th, 2015. Winners will be notified via Twitter and must show a proof of current enrollment (or postdoctoral fellow appointment) to claim their prize.
